Happy December! We loved seeing all your mouthwatering photos last month. Check them out for yourself and get details on our next recipe below!
I have to say, I love starting the month by sharing our new Cooking Club recipe! Really, it’s been such a joy to receive all your cooking club submissions this fall. It’s so fun to see the different ways you adapt a recipe, what you like to serve it with, or who you share it with. Starting a new month, I love knowing that people all over the country (and the world!) will be making the same dish. We’ll all eat it at different times in different places, but I still feel like it brings us together.
In November, our winner was Kayla Klaver, but if you scroll to the bottom of this post, you can see all your apple crumble photos. I hope you’ll join us for December too!
December’s Recipe
We took things in a sweet direction last month, so this time, I wanted to choose something savory. However, I still wanted to give you a vegan and gluten-free option. The Cooking Club is the most fun when as many people as possible can participate! I ended up choosing two recipes: my Baked Ziti and my Vegetarian Lasagna. Make either recipe gluten-free by subbing in gluten-free pasta, and make the lasagna vegan by skipping the cheese on top (the filling is totally dairy-free!).
These comforting pastas are the sort of thing Jack and I have always eaten around the holidays. Whether you make them for a special occasion or a regular December dinner, I hope you enjoy them this month! Both are chock-full of veggies, so even though they’re comfort food, they’ll make you feel good.
Send a photo of your baked ziti or lasagna to LoveAndLemonsCookingClub@gmail.com by 11:59 PM on December 30th to enter the club. After you’ve entered, leave a comment (with your first and last name so I can match it to your email submission) on the Baked Ziti or Lasagna recipe post for a bonus entry. I can’t wait to see your creations, and happy cooking!
The Love & Lemons Cooking Club
If you missed last month’s challenge, here’s how the Cooking Club works and how YOU can get involved:
- Each month, I choose one seasonal Love & Lemons recipe.
- If you make that recipe during the month, snap a picture of it, and email it to LoveAndLemonsCookingClub@gmail.com by 11:59 PM on the second to last day of the month. This month, the deadline will be 11:59 PM on December 30th.
- By sending your picture to LoveAndLemonsCookingClub@gmail.com, you’ll be entered to win a prize. In December, it’s a $200 Visa gift card! For a bonus entry, leave a comment on the chosen recipe after you submit your photo.
- At the end of the month, I’ll announce a randomly selected winner and share all your photos on the blog!

I love to eat 🙂
I made the Baked Ziti. The lemon ricotta is a genius touch! I will definitely make this again (and again).
Thanks for sharing this. I love this information. Kindly post new about new recipes. Thanks again
I made the lasagna and it was amazing!
I made the Baked Ziti tonight. I loved the brightness of the lemon zest in the ricotta. Thank you for this recipe!
I made the vegetarian lasagna and it was amazing. I made it exactly as written (minus the fennel and with regular mozzarella versus smoked) and it turned out fantastic – my husband loved it.
I made the delicious vegetarian lasagna tonight! Thanks for the tasty recipe!
